What Is Tae Kwon Do?
|
Many people have questions about Tae Kwon Do and how it compares to other martial arts training. Tae Kwon Do means "the way of the hand and foot." It is the traditional martial art of Korea. Its power and grace have made it popular the world over, and it is now featured as an Olympic sport. The five tenets of Tae Kwon Do are Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit.

Athens Tae Kwon Do Center
Athens Tae Kwon Do Center has served the Athens area and Northeast Georgia since 1992 originally under the leadership of Master Chang Bae Yi and currently under Mr. and Mrs. Carter. Our Instructors offer training in all levels of Tae Kwon Do. ATC students and their families also are eligible for classes in Haidong Gumdo -- "the way of the sword."

American Tae Kwon Do Foundation (ATF)
The American Tae Kwon Do Foundation, headquartered at Chung's Academy of Tae Kwon Do in Montgomery, Alabama, is the parent organization of the Athens Tae Kwon Do Center. Grandmaster Y.S. Chung, a 9th Degree Black Belt who helped bring Tae Kwon Do to this country, is ATF's President and Mr. Yi's master.
